Cathleen Marie Thérèse Parra is a body positive photographer and burlesque performance artist in New York City. Cathleen was a nominee for the Master of Macabre award at The White Elephant Burlesque Silver Tusk Awards (2018). She has performed throughout the East Coast, including the Great Burlesque Expo Festival in Cambridge, MA (2017). Cathleen studied Photography & Media Arts at Parsons The New School For Design in New York City and New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ. She has been working in mediums such as portrait and performance photography, video art, installation and production design for music videos. Her work has been exhibited around the U.S. & internationally. She also runs her own studio, Regal Pictures in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2015 Cathleen has been the NYC resident photographer for the bi-national dance company, Danse Theatre Surreality based in Paris & NYC. She’s accompanied DTS with the traveling productions of ‘Life is a Dream’ in Portland, ME and ‘sans’ in Seattle, WA.
